This article deals with contemporary young architects in Los Angeles who are in question. According to author, young vigorous architects are being excessively attended, though they are imperfect and effortless. This young group is compared with its senior group, includes some famous architects, in terms of this young generation’s lack of practicing with other architects and exploring the city’s neighborhoods. Even though Los Angeles is a perfect city to test appropriate and suitable architectural experiments, this young group doesn’t satisfy the expectations. The author suggests some schemes to this generation. They may need some time to change how life is lived in L.A with their architectures. And they also need some commitments include burrowing, head-down and long-term commitment. Besides this group might need some apprenticeships with bigger firms before they make their own firms.
Reading this article, I was very interested to know about young architects’ issue in this country, since I just dive into this new field, architecture. To me, contemporary is a present issue which is absorbing most significant attention. As I previously commented, most urgency in young architect group in L.A is their unconsciousness what they have to do before make their own firms. The reason that contemporary issue is important is because present can change the future. If young generation constantly makes no progress, architectural society will be not developed. Besides designers or architects have to remark contemporary for their better works. Every aspects of creativity are related to current issues. For being a successful designer, we need to give attention to contemporary.

I do not recognize that young architects in these days are apt to skip their training processes. That is why the modern architecture looks similar. I totally agree with Katie that the new generation of architects need to give attention to contemporary, because her opinion is a matter of course. However, when I read this article, the most important thing is that young architects have to find their own voices. The more architectures are popularized, the more they are nearly the same. So, especially in modern times, it is important for architects to have personality in their works. To get our own voices, as an author says, we have to pass through many processes, which are learning, practicing, and following advices from critics and bloggers, and there is no limit to go through these stages while the young architects are working. If the new generation of architects practices again and again, they could get their own voices. Then, according to Katie’s thoughts, architectural society will be developed.

I was struck by the willingness of Los Angeles's clients/patrons to take risks on "young" talent. Regardless of how much experience one has (toiling in an office or otherwise), finding a way to actually construct/build your thoughts is a valuable lesson in and of itself.
